Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.
Luke 22:42 NLT
Thoughts:
Many times, we want God to take away our suffering and struggles to make life easier for us in that moment, not realizing that those difficult things that we face make us stronger and wiser when we overcome them. The purpose of it all is for us to willingly grow through those ‘seasonal hiccups’ by learning the lessons behind the hardships, and as Jesus said, let God’s will be done, not ours.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for this word today. I need your help to grow through the pain that I face, so teach me the lesson that will lead to the blessing that’s disguised in the messiness of life. Help me to be studious with the trials and tribulations that come my way, so that my testimony can teach someone else what I have learned. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
